Never leave the empty Carafe on the Warming Plate as the Carafe risks cracking. DO NOT open the Top Cover while appliance is in use and make sure the Carafe is placed on the Warming Plate correctly while brewing. The Carafe is designed for use with this appliance. DO NOT let the coffee maker operate without water. DO NOT set a hot container on a hot or cold surface. Use carefully as the Carafe is very fragile. Only use the Carafe supplied with this appliance. Never use the appliance if the Carafe shows any signs of cracks or of having a loose or weakened handle. Some parts of appliance are hot when in operation. To disconnect, turn any control to “off,” then remove plug from wall outlet. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord in the wall outlet. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot food. NEVER leave unit unattended while in use or when plugged into an outlet. DO NOT let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. DO NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
